    Kingsgate Gators Assistant Coach

    The Gators are a medium-sized swim team located in the Kingsgate V neighborhood of Kirkland. Our team has roughly 125 participants ages 6 to 18. We are part of the Midlakes Swim League. The swim season runs from Mid May through the end of July.


    1. Ensure practices and meets occur in a safe and organized manner.

    2. Supervise swimmers and teach proper competitive swimming technique.

    3. Attend all swim team events and functions to include pool parties, coaching clinics, and banquets.

    4. Arrange meet lineups using Swimmingly Software.

    5. Represent the Gators Swim Team to Midlakes and to the community in a professional manner.

    6. Communicate timely, effectively, and professionally with the team, other coaches, and parents and the Gators Board.


    1. Knowledge and understanding of summer league swimming.

    2. Knowledge and experience teaching swimming to a variety of abilities and levels.

    3. Self-Motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision.

    4. Candidates must enjoy working with a diverse group of swimmers.

    5. Experience supervising others and working in a team environment.

    6. Grounded level headed personality in potentially stressful, high energy situations.

    7. Ability to work with the other age-group coach to organize practices and meets.

    8. Current valid certifications in First Aid, CPR, and either Lifeguard Training or Safety Training for Coaches. More information about Midlakes coaching requirements can be found here.

    9. Ability to take constructive feedback in a professional manner.

    Compensation: to be discussed with the Gators Board

    2022 Practice Schedule, which will most likely be the same in 2023, but could vary:

    Evening: Mid-May to mid-June

    8 & Under: 6:30-7

    9-10: 7-7:30

    11-12: 7:30-8:15

    13 & Over: 8:15-9:15

    Morning: Starts mid-June (when school gets out)

    13 & Over: 6:15-7:15

    11-12: 7:15-8:15

    9-10: 8:15-9:00

    8 & Under: 9:00-9:30

    Saturday Clinics: second Saturday in June

    First meet Mid-June; Mid-July division Champs; end of July league Champs

    Candidates must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions for extended periods and be physically capable of carrying out the duties of a swim coach.
