    Gators 2024 – Team Email 7/7

    Greetings Gators,

    Weekly updates coming your way…

    NEW…

    (1) Swim Meets 7/9 & 7/11: We will compete against Tam O’Shanter this week; away on 7/9 (B Meet) and home on 7/11 (A Meet).

Tuesday, 7/9: Attached is the information from TOS. Also, they will be hosting an “Ice Cream Social”. There will be a table just outside the pool deck and will start serving ice cream during the second half of the meet to all swimmers. Gator swimmers welcome!

A few tips and reminders for the TOS meet:

    - All tents and canopies should be set up in the parking lot. The pool deck is free of tents. There will be small bleachers set up for spectators. There is not a lot of shade in the parking lot so please bring canopies or tents.

    - The main clubhouse restaurant is open to Kingsgate guests for food off the menu and/or drinks. It is ok to drink alcohol on the deck above the pool. No alcohol is allowed on the pool deck please. Please no swimsuits or bare feet in the restaurant.

    - Also as listed in the info sheet, we will have food for sale in the room across from the pool deck. Such as hotdogs, chicken strips/fries, mac and cheese, ramen, Ceasar salads. Swimsuits and/or bare feet are ok in this room.

Thursday, 7/11: For our home meet, all the info is on our website. Please review and plan accordingly. Check the team calendar for food truck info. Gator Pod Swimmers will swim their second home meet promptly at 5:45pm. Please RSVP on the website.

And then…. Drumroll please… Pa rum pa pum pum…. Cheer on the most epic relay ever! Parents, coaches, lifeguards, and seniors will compete against each other. We welcome any parents interested. Reply and let us know if you are ready to jump into this adventure.

    Coach Reminders:

    • Please check SwimminlyFan earlier in the day, and let your child know what events he/she is swimming before warm ups.
    • Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled warm up time.
    • Coaches will take attendance at warm ups. All swimmers please check in with the coaches when you arrive.
    • If something has come up and you are unable to make any of next week’s meets, please email the coaches ASAP ([email protected]).

    ON REPEAT…

    (1) Division & League Champs: Division Champs will be on Saturday, 7/20 at Rolling Hills. Declarations are open; please declare ASAP. The process for declaring is the same as regular meets. We hope you can make this meet! Fun Fact: this is Coach Katie’s absolute favorite meet.

League Champs: If your swimmer has received a white swim cap, that means he/she has qualified to swim that event at League Champs (aka A champs) on Sunday, July 28th at KCAC. Please RSVP directly to the coaches with your availability to attend this meet. Swimmers can only swim in events with a qualifying A time. Practice times for League Champs are July 22-July 26 and times are posted on the website. Additionally, if you are attending league champs, save the date for Friday, 7/26 from 11-1pm for a team lunch.

Swimmers can swim up to three events between league AND division champs including a combination of no more than two individual or two relays.
